Description

Join us for an experience of a lifetime in the beautiful Caribbean Island, the Dominican Republic. The DR Venture program is a three-week experience which combines Spanish language learning and culture, volunteering and recreational excursions.

Together with 10-15 other students and professionals, your first two weeks will provide you with Spanish conversation classes (six hours/day) to enhance your language skills while also learning about Dominican history and culture during visits to museums, dance lessons and lectures. Your sharing with local Dominican families during your homestay will also allow you to immerse yourself in local culture.

What would a trip to the Dominican Republic be without visits to the beach and other beautiful areas the island has to offer? During your time in our country, each weekend will include an adventure trip to an all-inclusive beach resort, hiking and exploring at local caves and/or a day of river rafting in the mountains of Jarabacoa. All costs related to these trips are included in the program cost.

After working hard to establish a base in Spanish, you will be spending a week in the countryside supporting a community development project. These projects include facilitation of summer camps & building homes and schools while sharing with the local community. You'll have the opportunity to get to know rural life in the DR and support much-needed communities.
