White and Samarian cliffs are part of the mountain Velika Kapela (Large Chapel). In the beginning, both were in close contact consisting of unique highland spurs. However, later tectonic forces carved up that part into many smaller rocks that under atmospheric and chemical activities present today miraculously beautiful and outstanding shapes. Subsequently, those rocks were named after the aforementioned shapes: Dvorac (a Castle), Covuljak (a Little Man), Morski pas (a Shark), Amfiteatar (Amphitheatre), Piramida (Pyramid), Dvorac-Kula (Castle-Tower), Prsti (Fingers)... The rocks are unique in beauty, incomparable and nothing similar to anything that exists already. The beauty of their rough and primeval nature is enchanting. Nature has created the labyrinth of Krast shapes, many high, sheer cliffs, as well as the impassable Karst swallow-holes and chasms with everlasting snow on the ground. Looking at it from a scientific point of view, the White and Samarian cliffs were proclaimed a strict nature reserve in 1985 not only due to its exquisite beauty but also to its uniqueness as a point of interest. Owing to its inaccessibility, the Rocks were isolated and less known, therefore, its natural qualities are completely intact. Breakfast, dinner and overnight.
