Description
Think Outside the Box
Participants on our Fiji Leadership Challenge move beyond the role of students and become hands-on facilitators for Fijian youth. During this program youll learn what it takes to become a leader. Create games and problem-solving activities and design your own leadership curriculum. As you develop your skills, youll venture into the Fijian school system and apply what you have learned. Many Fijian schools do not have the funding for hands-on activities, and the local students truly enjoy working with groups and foreigners. As a facilitator youll have the unique opportunity to empower local students by teaching them that they have the ability to stand up as leaders in their community and succeed in the world.
In addition to facilitating leadership activities in the classroom, you will take part in multiple community projects. As you work alongside local students, you will help them discover a sense pride in their community. Some of the projects that you may assist with include designing and painting murals and helping with various construction projects. The Fiji Leadership Challenge will help you grow as an individual, challenge you to stand up and take control of a group, teach you team-building skills, and introduce you to plenty of excited Fijian friends.
Fun on the Beach
You'll work hard while youre here, but the rewards will be great. The Fiji Islands are a paradise that will be at your fingertips throughout your time here. You'll have the chance to explore the area and enjoy many of the countrys stunning beaches. You'll also be able to participate in various optional activities during your program. You may choose to skydive, pull on a pair of fins and explore the teeming ocean, hop on a boat and visit a few neighboring islands, pamper yourself at a spa, or simply relax on the beach for a few hours. After a couple of weeks in the islands, you'll settle into the relaxed Fijian pace of life and begin to feel like a local.
Who Should Come?
The Fiji Leadership Challenge is for students who want to rise above the role of participants and into the role of facilitators. If youre ready to think outside the box and are motivated, mature, and excited to create a challenging opportunity for Fijian students, then you should definitely apply. Get ready to dive into a life-changing summer experience for both you and the Fijian students youll work with. This program easily connects with all of our other programs in Australia, New Zealand, and Fiji.
