Description

ShuarHands, Inc. has recently opened a medical clinic in the western highlands in Guatemala. This is a non-profit social clinic offering services to adults and children. We also provide a pharmacy, laboratory and dental office. Many of our patients live in poverty or extreme-poverty. We also travel to rural area providing assistance.

You arrive in Guatemala City on Saturday. On Sunday we provide transportation to San Marcos. You'll view indigenous women in their native dress, beautiful volcanos and terraced hillsides. We will spend time at Iximche, where you'll experience ancient Mayan ruins. Beginning on Monday, you will work in the Policlinica in San Pedro. A few days you will travel to the rural area to meet families, provide medical treatment, and deliver school supplies. Friday we offer an appreciation dinner. Early Saturday morning we leave for Antigua, stopping at Xela for shopping. We arrive at Antigua, a World Heritage Site, where we encourage you to extend your vacation: visit Tikal, Chichicastenango or Lake Atitlan. Traveling from Antigua to Guatemala City for your departing flight is easy: one hour and about USD20.00.
